Settling is part of the drifting
sometimes floats up
sometimes floats down
moving through forces
settling by force
but always, as always, settling is a process making things clear
but always, as always, it’s a break before departing again
Sand Settling on Sand is a Non-Solo of Jamsen Law in association with Linda Lai, Verdy Leung, Anson Mak, and Annie Wan. It’s an exhibition combining a new series of digital imaging artworks by Jamsen Law and a collection of artworks by artists from four different disciplines. To expand the scope of conversation about experiences of time, Linda will use text and image on paper, when Anson will use sound and music. As ikebana master Verdy will arrange seasonal flowers for the theme, Annie will show viewers two ceramic books.
This forth one, after the Non-Solos of LEE Suet Ying, TSANG Chui Mei and Elaine WONG in association with John Aiken, Yarli Allison, Kurt Chan, Ho Siu Kee, Hung Keung, Ivy Ma, Linda Lai, Jaffa Lam, and Leo Wong, as the previous ones are to explore both artwork and exhibition making. For the curator-artist, they are both learning processes, learning from the medium, learning from the subject matter. Most importantly, how a person thinks and feels artistically processes the surroundings.
