While treating dad to a fabulous feast is more than enough to show him your appreciation on Father’s Day, it’s always a good idea to take it up a notch and impress him more just because you love him. Gifts and gadgets could do the trick, but nothing beats pampering dad with a few rounds of his favourite drinks. Luke, our Muse Wine Bar Manager and master curator of delectable wines from all around the world, has just the perfect recommendations for you to treat dad!
2017 Sherwood Family Collection Pinot Noir
Luke recommends this label not only for its delicious berry and plum aromas, but for its father and son sentiments too. This wine collection was created by a family in New Zealand in 1987 and is a legacy passed down from father to son.
2016 Bourgogne Blanc Cuvee Famille Lou Dumont Chardonnay
Featuring a unique drawing by winery owner’s daughter on the wine label, this White Burgundy from the Burgundy region of France, whom Luke recommends, tells another passionate story of a family winery. Flavour profile includes notes of herbs, melon, pears, ripe apples, and honeycomb.
2015 Zonte’s Footstep Shiraz
Named in tribute to the bravery of members of the Z Special Unit, the celebrated multi-national commando force of the Australian Army during World War II, this flavourful red wine is as powerful as its name. Matured for 18 months in Aged American and French Oak, it has interesting dark chocolate characters to it.
2017 Paulo Lareano Classico Antão Vaz
Produced by Paulo Lareano, a well-known winemaker from Australia, this fragrant white wine is the first wine created under his name in 1999. Luke highly recommends this blend as a gift to fathers who enjoy dry white wines with hints of nuts and honey.
